A new supplier partnership between One New Zealand GODZONE and Mountain Adventure, New Zealand’s exclusive distributors of NEMO equipment, Fenix and La Sportiva, will ensure competitors are well equipped to take on the world’s largest expedition racing event in Marlborough this November.

A significant lineup of New Zealand and international adventure racing competitors will tackle the gruelling yet spectacular 650km course at One NZ GODZONE Chapter 12, being hosted in Marlborough for the first time, from November 27 to December 5, 2025.

One NZ GODZONE Race Director, Adam Fairmaid, says the new supplier partnership is an opportunity to showcase the technical prowess of Fenix, La Sportiva, and NEMO equipment within New Zealand’s rugged outdoor environment.

“We are inspired by these specialist outdoor brands stepping forward to support competitors through prizes and swag, and the crew with some essential gear. These technical brands have huge global followings amongst outdoor sports and adventuring communities and align perfectly with One NZ GODZONES’ gritty racing spirit and ethos.”

Mountain Adventure will provide premium prize packs for the top three teams in the Pure and Pursuit racing categories. The prize packs will feature a NEMO Tent, Fenix Lighting package including headtorch, bike lights, helmet mount and a voucher for a pair of La Sportiva Bushido 2 shoes for each winning team member. All competitors will receive a swag bag including products and discount vouchers from Fenix, La Sportiva, and NEMO.

Swag bags from One NZ GODZONE’s premier apparel and pack partner, Macpac, will also be available at the official race registration at the Marlborough Events Centre on Thursday, November 27.

Fairmaid says the Chapter 12 course is shaping up to be an exhilarating and challenging spectacle through Marlborough’s extraordinary terrain where teams will require robust gear to support their multi-day adventurous quest.

“Fenix headlamps, La Sportiva shoes and NEMO tents have been tested all over the globe in all sorts of conditions, with superior results. They are an ideal choice for competitors who will be adventuring on a grand scale including climbing ridgelines, packrafting expansive waterways and mountain biking backcountry territory during all hours of day and night, over a 4 – 7 day period.”

“In the last two years I have personally been carrying an ultra-lightweight Nemo tent on extended trips into Fiordland and it’s been a great success,” says Fairmaid. “At just under 1 kg the tent is easy to pack and use and is phenomenal all round.”

Mountain Adventure (formerly Marvelox), founded in 1986, is a distributor of high-quality outdoor equipment from premium international brands with a significant focus on people working and recreating within New Zealand’s vast network of national parks, conservation areas and other accessible wild places.

Mountain Adventure Sales Manager Glenn Campbell says the company has developed strong relationships with elite adventure racing athletes and previous One NZ GODZONE teams over the years.

“We know our products work in the extreme conditions that these teams are navigating on course so joining the event increases the exposure and understanding of the performance-based aspects of Fenix, La Sportiva and NEMO equipment while firming up our position as a premium supplier.”

Mountain Adventure will supply select items for the race management and media crews, along with hosting a Fenix self-contained recharge station for batteries at the race.

“We want to get noticed by the racers and plan to have staff attending the official registration to showcase a range of products, answer any questions, potentially solve any pre-race problems with gear or last-minute items, including tent pegs and spare batteries,” says Campbell. “Our self-contained recharge station for batteries will be available for competitors to use at registration and potentially at one of the transition points on the race course to ensure teams have the best possible lighting available to get to the finish line.”
